Regarding your article on Haverfordwest featuring Griff Rhys Jones.
It is so sad to see the centre of our county town so down at heel. I am sure the powers that be are always looking at this and will have a plan, but just a few ideas from a layman.
A coat of paint on the front of buildings in the main streets would immediately cheer up the whole place.
I can understand modern large out of town units being needed for larger shops such as M&S, Tesco and Boots, but can’t we have a level playing field for the town centre starting with free car parking (as the out of town shops have) to attract people into the town centre.
How about creating an all weather shopping area covering Castle Square, Bridge Street, Swan Square and all of the newer shops on the other side of the river. Why not have an architectural competition to come up with a scheme.
