Dear Editor:- So Hywel Dda Health Board are going to send us all a DVD for a small amount of 20p per household – amazing. However, there seems to be a glaring omission as to the cost of delivering these gems to each and every household.
Unless the health board have arranged for people already on their payroll to leave their desks and go out and hand deliver the DVD’s, the Roya Mail is a likely candidate for the job. At 36p per DVD, this will add another £57,109 to the £31,727, making a grand total of £88,836. Not such a bargain now is it. If the health board cannot get two sums right, is it any wonder that they are massively overspent each year. Furthermore, not everyone has a DVD player, so they will become instant dustbin fodder – what a waste.
