Dear Editor:- Power with responsibility – Through the columns of the Western Telegraph we learn who the leaders of the Independent Plus Group – whatever that means – have chosen as members of the cabinet and as chairpersons of the scrutiny committees.

There are few changes but I suppose a major overhaul was too much to expect.

It would be commendable if these select few would use your columns to inform the public what appropriate life/work experiences and expertise they bring to their roles and how they intend to oversee and scrutinise the administration of the County Council with an annual budget of at least £306,000 and thereby help to ensure the council, in the future, is not faced with further criticisms from the Welsh Assembly of which, in the recent past, only one person has meritoriously fallen on a sword.

It was Rudyard Kipling who wrote that power without responsibility was not acceptable.
