Waste of time

Almost every day I receive a "Cold Call" from some company attempting to convince me either that their product is cheaper, their cause is greater or I may be able to claim many thousands of pounds from my bank.

At most times I will simply put down the phone as soon as they rant on about their fabulous discounts, easy pay methods and advantages over competitive companies.

However, occasionally, I will listen to all that they have to say then tell them that I am not interested, After all they are paying for the call.

Today, I had two such calls; one from a well known electricity supplier, and the other from an equally prominent animal welfare company.

The electricity supplier was, remarkably, interesting. So I duly asked if they would send information through the post. They said "Oh yes we will send a contract, with a 28 day opt out option". When I said that I did not want a contract, just information, their reply was "Sorry, we don't work like that" , to which my reply was "Well, I am sorry too, GOODBYE!" and put down the handset.

The animal charity was requesting that I pay them £8 a month to their cause, Then, although I explained to them that I could not afford to pay them such a sum, they proceeded to attempt to get me to pay progressively lower amounts. Not until I said that I would complain to authorities about their bullying tactics did they cease their tactics.

Be warned!

By all means answer "Cold Callers" if you want to waste time, and money, but don't blame me if you regret it!
