Wind planning

ANYONE who has signed up to have wind turbines on their land, or are thinking of doing so, should bear in mind that if their land is subject to a mortgage or legal charge – to a bank or anyone else – they may not have the legal right to sign up without the lender’s agreement.

And since the promoters of a wind turbine project may be backed from the start by a major investor, or anyway intend to sell their interest on once the project is up, running and producing money, lenders may well want to be cut in on the deal – or to veto it if they are not.
