Growing disregard

I HAVE noticed how well the sprouting weeds of the ‘eco garden roof’ on Withybush Hospital’s new A&E wing complement the rest of Pembrokeshire’s roadside verges, and I wonder if this is perhaps an indication of the regard our authorities have for the facility and for the county as a whole.

I have no doubt I shall receive urgent education as to the ecological benefits obtained from the council’s current policy, but I couldn’t give a fig and I wonder what reaction there would be if everyone neglected their gardens in the same manner.

And as for financial savings – well if Pembrokeshire can afford to pay prime ministerial salaries and expenses to councillors in excess of £1,000,000, then we can afford to stop this beautiful county looking like a tip.
