RECENTLY I had the need to use the services at Withybush Hospital . The requirement was urgent and unexpected and I was apprehensive.
I need not have worried because the quality of service I received during my stay in ward three was second to none.
From the outset I was put at ease and during all of my stay. I was awarded kindness and courtesy of a high order from all the staff, despite the considerable pressure under which they are required to work and the general sense of apprehension because of the current uncertainty surrounding the future of essential services at Withybush. In particular the very real threat of losing the baby unit and children’s services away from Haverfordwest is received with general alarm amongst all staff.
I trust that the people of Pembrokeshire will succeed in uniting to oppose successfully what appears to be utter madness.
