IN RESPONSE to ‘Job Lot grants handout sparks Mayor’s criticism’ (Western Telegraph, September 26th).
Whilst I agree that all groups should apply for grants, the remarks that the groups have not been seen by the Mayor of Haverfordwest in the last five years, not doing anything for Haverfordwest as was said is rather ‘sad’.
I would like to point out that for example Haverfordwest Ladies Choir represented the town on many functions, concerts, services both throughout Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany paid for out of their own funds and pockets, as do the other choirs, who also make money for a lot of charities.
It is a shame that the person who holds the position of Mayor of this town, obviously has no idea of the amount of work, time and travel given to represent the town.
Where have you been for the last five years Mr Mayor?
As a long standing choir member, I was very annoyed at his comments.
