Dismay at building

OVER the past few months I have watched with dismay at the deterioration of a building in Castle Square in the very heart of our county town, Haverfordwest.

Having made enquiries I understand Barrie Burgess leased this property for a number of years and kept it in pristine condition.

Latterly this was leased by Snowdrop Bakeries and again was kept in a respectable manner.

To my knowledge the property is in the ownership of an elderly person residing in Devon, who has family connections with a business family living in Haverfordwest. It is possible for Pembrokeshire County Council to compulsory purchase, but I understand their reluctance to do so, thus spending tax payers’ money.

Nevertheless I do ask that Haverfordwest family with connections to the building to please act without delay.
