The saga continues in Newport.
The planning application has been refused and locals hope it will lead to the controversial house being demolished.
But we all know that planning law means these events can be dragged out for a VERY long time.
Officers had recommended permission, the National Park Planning Committee voted to refuse it.
The next step is for the applicant to appeal to the Welsh Assembly.
Even if that appeal is successful, that may not mean the end is nigh for Bettws Newydd.
I am sure this will be going on for quite a while yet so who will back down first?
