Dear Editor:- The Tax Payers Alliance has once again become thew only champion of the working population that has managed to maintain their ‘Work Ethics’. We now have liberal and socialist
politicians in bed with wet bishops who don’t live in the real world of commerce and industry. They can always find excuses for the feckless minority of people who don’t want to work and the
criminal under-class that enjoys beating the ‘system’.

Dear Editor:- So Hywel Dda Health Board are going to send us all a DVD for a small amount of 20p per household – amazing. However, there seems to be a glaring omission as to the cost of delivering
these gems to each and every household.

Dear Editor, I am particularly grateful to AM Paul Davies for highlighting the discrepancy in opthalmic services in Hywel Dda's area. I was diagnosed with a cataract to my right eye approximately
eighteen months ago. I was informed by my optician, and later by my GP,that treatment was unavailable on the NHS in Wales unless I was effectively blind in both eyes; then one eye could be done.
However, if I were to pay £1850 I could have the 'simple operation next week'. I booked an appointment with the opthalmic surgeon to discuss the treatment. This discussion cost me £75 plus £30 for
the 'hire' of a room at Withybush Hospital for an hour. I am still trying to decide if I should pay to go private. My frustration with Hywel Dda's
policy stems from the fact that my sister, in England, had only to wait five weeks to have her cataract treated on the NHS.

I am pleased to see your report that Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies is campaigning for better treatment for cataract patients here in West Wales. Indeed, I am pleased to be able to see to
read your newspaper once again, because that everyday pleasure, along with driving, chopping vegetables and a multitude of other activities which fully-sighted people take for granted, was denied
me in the months before I had a cataract operation, because I had lost so much vision.

Dear Sir, With the very real possibility of a future Scottish Parliament voting to get rid of the Trident Nuclear bases at Coulport and Faslane, the Government will be looking for a viable
alternative. Milford Haven was a runner in the search for a deep-water base in 1963 when the Government was searching for a base for the Polaris Nuclear fleet. We have to be alert to the
possibility that Milford Haven is once again being considered for this purpose. Some twenty odd years ago Pembrokeshire County Council
declared our county to be Nuclear free. Can we be assured the Council would still be willing to maintain that declaration now?

Dear Editor:- Getting the facts straight (Jan 25th). May I through your pages point out to Eric Howells that the pro-budget supporters have not buried their heads in the sand as he puts, but are
very keen to see a vaccination process being carried out. After all there is a BTB vaccination available for badgers and this year there will be vaccinations for cattle also.

No one is debating the quality of care in withybush hospital, Drs and nurses do a wonderful job everywhere. It is the powers that be that want to close smaller local hospital AEcentres, making us
travel further and taking longer to get maybe critical accident treatment, where time maybe of the essence !(Not to mention in this day of trying to cut global pollution, making miles more of
emmisions!) The population is increasing, we need more local emergency treatment centres not less. In my case (though not critical) I broke my ankle 2 years ago, went to Cardigan hospital, where
they x rayed it, but said they couldnt plaster it there! Ihad to get a pal to drive me 30 miles to Withybush to get it plastered, which seemed ridiculous to me.! M.Trott Tegryn.

We used to be able to park along the bridge when i wanted to visit the Halifax . Now parking is severely limited to ONE disabled area which is occupied most of the time. Yesterday, i parked just
behind a car that was already in the disabled area and went to get a ministatement which only took a minute....only to be told by the traffic warden not to park in the in the loading bay....even
with a disabled badge! And taking up a taxi space is a hanging offence! It's only created hastle and bad feeling all round!

Cooler heads spotted long ago that Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) was nothing more than a massive scam to extract more taxes from the masses. Indeed, this unscrupulous exercise was aided and
abetted by many a climatologist and scientist (thankfully not all) to ensure their on-going funding. But it now seems chickens are coming home to roost - Al Gore et al must have choked over their
cornflakes last week when the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit revealed data showing the Earth has not warmed for the past 15 years; this data was based on 30,000
measuring stations around the planet. So I guess Al Gore will have to come up with another Inconvenient Truth such as Version Two, the Great Global Cooling.
