Telegraph Sport takes a brief look at what happened in the James Williams Pembrokeshire football league first division.

With Carew slipping to a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to table topping Monkton Swifts, Goodwick United took full advantage to move into second spot with a 2-0 win at Marble Hall against Milford United.

It was a goalless first period, but Goodwick's Ryan Thomas struck twice in the second-half to put a big grin on manager Bernie Armstrong's face.

Sixth place Hakin United gained a hard fought 2-1 home victory over close neighbours Herbrandston.

Scott Reynish and Justin Harding netted for the Vikings, plus Marc Gelona added his name to the Herbie scoresheet.

If Colin Fawcett's young Vikings win their four games in hand they'll only be two points behind the leaders Monkton Swifts and still have the champions to play.

Haverfordwest County suffered a 6-0 drubbing at home against in-form Neyland.

The Nomads have impressively won their last five games, and Adam La Rosa (2), Wayne Parry, Jason Phillips, Shane Phillips and Henry Durrant bagged the goals.

Merlins Bridge defeated struggling derby-rivals Camrose 2-0 at the Racecourse.

The visitors are sitting second from bottom and are favourites to be relegated along with rock bottom Tenby.

The Wizards scored both their goals midway through the first period. Defender Chris Ormond nodded in a Brett Shakir corner, and five minutes later, striker Adie Smith struck to score against his former team-mates.

Flying the flag for Pembrokeshire in the quarter-final of the West Wales Intermediate Cup were Solva who travelled to Winch Wen.

The top Swansea league outfit oozed class as they convincingly won 6-1.

Nathan Davies cracked in Solva's solitary goal and manager Peter Cole had no complaints come the final whistle.
