Father urged to keep drugs promise
A father, who had been advised by acquaintances that drugs would help him get through a stressful period of his life, produced four sugar cubes containing LSD when questioned by police.
Officer executed an search warrant for drugs at an address in Haverfordwest on February 1st. When the occupant was not at home they entered the property.
Within the next hour seven or eight people called at the property. One of them was Thomas David Henry Evans of 9 Nubian Avenue, Haverfordwest.
When police asked him if he had drugs on him Evans, aged 21, handed over bags with four sugarcubes in them, telling officers "They've got LSD in them".
Nick Newton, prosecuting, told Haverfordwest magistrates court that Evans' home was subsequently searched and officers uncovered 1.5 grammes of herbal cannabis and ketamine with a street value of £7.
Evans admitted possession, saying the drugs were for personal use.
"This was a proverbial 'blip'," said Eirug Roberts, defending."He had only been taking drugs for a three or four week period and will never take them again. He is deeply remoseful."
He pointed out that the total value of the drugs was £31.
Magistrates gave Evans a 12 month conditional discharge. Telling Evans:
"You have made a promise to the court that you are not dealing with drugs and will not do so again. We have taken you at your word."
