Hundreds of women will get together at Scolton Manor this morning (Saturday) as families and friends touched by the effects of cancer prepare to Race for Life.
The annual charity run in aid of Cancer Research UK sees a huge turnout in Haverfordwest each year and Saturday's race is expected to draw in crowds of runners, walkers, supporters and spectators.
Aimed at women of all ages, the Race for Life encourages contestants to collect sponsors, as individuals or in groups, and join together in an emotional display of courage; in memory of loved ones, in solidarity for cancer sufferers or in celebration of survivors.
This year organisers are hoping to see 1,700 women at the event, helping them smash their fundraising target of £110,000.
The race will begin in the grounds of Scolton Manor at 11am. Organisers are encouraging participants to arrive by 10am for a group warm-up.
