Householders in north Pembrokeshire and Cardigan are being offered an earlybird grant to help with the cost of installing solar hot water, biomass boilers or heat pumps but the closing date is looming.

“We are working hard to make solar hot water affordable for anyone that it suits,” said Vicky Moller on behalf of the eco group administering the grant.

“If a family uses hot water for washing and has a sunny spot to put the modest-sized panels, it would generally be foolish not to install, provided the price is right.”

The group can offer the earlybird local grant, bulk-buy and installation deals which will lower prices, as well as loans at 4% interest.

“The more people who sign up with an expression of interest the better the deal and the more grant can be applied for. It would be wise to leave fossil fuels before they leave us,” said Vicky.

The closing date to register an expression of interest is tomorrow, Saturday November 10th. E-mail: vicky@ecocymru.org, phone 01239 820971 or visit Cardigan Ecoshop, or Newport’s Eco Centre Wales.
