TV presenter Fiona Phillips is the latest celebrity Coming Home with BBC Wales as she finds out more about her county roots.

Filmed in the months following her father’s death earlier this year, six years after she lost her mother, Fiona came back to Pembrokeshire and uncovered a wealth of historical connections she knew nothing about.

Fiona and Coming Home's resident genealogist Mike Churchill-Jones discover tales of revolutionists, mariners, farming and severe poverty.

Beginning research on her mother's side in Newport Fiona discovered a linked to the Rebecca Riots, a historical fact which thrilled the former showbiz reporter.

"I am really proud of this chapter in the family history. I hadn't even heard of the Rebecca Riots before making the programme," she said.

Despite the sadness at not being able to share the information with her parents the programme shows Fiona telling her mother's former work colleagues at Ocky White, Haverfordwest, a long lasting connection the family have with the town.

Coming Home with Fiona Phillips, BBC One Wales, Friday (November 30th), 7.30pm.
