Inspiring news for local entrepreneurs
10:30am Saturday 5th January 2013 in News
A new project which aims to kick-start innovation and creativity was launched recently at the Bridge Innovation Centre.
The INSPIRE project is aimed at Pembrokeshire’s entrepreneurs, innovators and existing small businesses and is delivered by Pembrokeshire County Council in partnership with the Institute of Technology, in Carlow, Ireland.
The launch started with the Innov8network breakfast network, with 60 local businesses attending and many staying to take part in the innovation design workshops held later on in the day.
Cabinet member for economy, tourism and communities, Councillor David Pugh, said: “We received excellent feedback from the event, with fantastic praise for the speakers, who are of a significant calibre in their field.
“Guest speaker Richard Watson, a writer with a particular focus on strategic foresight and an expert in global trends, delivered an inspirational speech ready to set people on their way in innovation at the start of the scheme in January.
“We also had a very interesting speech from Laurence Holt, chairman of the INSPIRE Project Steering Group, and co-founder of the management consultancy Lightwork.”
Peter Lord, project manager for INSPIRE, added: “The project will start in the new year with a range of free workshops and seminars aimed at inspiring creativity and developing knowledge of the innovation process.”
