School hotel plan supported by council
11:00am Sunday 6th January 2013 in News
An application to transform the former Herbrandston School building into a ten bedroomed hotel has been supported by the community council.
The application which includes an extension to form an entrance dining area, pitched roofs with dormers to flat roofs, and a one-bedroom flat was received by Herbrandston Community Council last month.
The community council put the plans on display for villagers and received no adverse comments, according to St Ishmaels County Councillor Reg Owens.
Cllr Owens said: “We don’t want the building to deteriorate and we want it to be maintained.
“The applicant has been very co-operative and I have not received any objections from residents.”
He added: “It is not a conventional hotel; all the rooms come with a bathroom and kitchenette.
“We have supported the application and it is a very nice plan.”
The plans have been submitted to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and a final decision on the application is due in the new year.
