Melin Tregwynt thrown into Celebrity Big Brother spotlight

One of Pembrokeshire’s longest running family businesses is rubbing shoulders with the stars, as its products are currently adorning the bedroom of the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Eifion Griffiths of Melin Tregwynt said it came as a “complete shock” when a whole range of items including blankets and throws were ordered by the Channel 5 show. He said the company, which is nearing its centenary year, had been contacted in the run up to Christmas with the order and despite the busy time of year and short notice, it was able to deliver.
“It’s very nice, I’ve no idea how they found us but these things happen. We’ve been used on television before, and its a very distinctive look and obviously suited what they wanted to do. We are on somebody’s radar somewhere.
“It’s quite interesting, here we are looking out of the windows out in the country in Pembrokeshire and strange to think the product is going off to do this celebrity stuff. I’d rather be here.”
Mr Griffiths said that he may now have to watch a bit of the series but when asked if he thought the blankets could feature in one of the series’ talking points he said: “I dread to think what could happen under those blankets.”
