A public protest at the closure of Tenby's Minor Injuries Unit is to be held on Saturday.

The gathering, outside Tenby Cottage Hospital in Gas Lane, which houses the unit, takes place between noon and 1pm.

A meeting of county, town and community councillors in Tenby last Monday agreed that the protest was one way to draw attention to the situation.

Town and community councils throughout south Pembrokeshire are also to fire off a volley of petitions to the Welsh Assembly to reinforce their protests about both Tenby and Pembroke Dock MIU closures.

Each council is also to ask for the Local Health Board decision to be called in and to contact local GP surgeries asking for their thoughts on providing minor injury services.
