Secondary school deadline looms

The deadline for parents in Pembrokeshire to apply for a 2013 secondary school place for their child is looming. Parents must complete the paperwork by Thursday, January 31st.

The county council is urging parents to make every effort to meet the deadline, as children whose parents make a written application by the deadline will be allocated places ahead of those who do not, regardless of their home address.

The application form needs to be completed even if the request is for a school outside Pembrokeshire or an SEN unit.

It is not sufficient to inform the headteacher of your child’s primary school verbally as it is the county council, and not individual secondary schools, which is responsible for admissions.

If you have mislaid your form or have a query, contact the council’s admissions officer on 01437 775030 or write to the Education Department, County Hall, Haverfordwest, SA61 1TP.
