Beef delivered to Pembroke Dock Community School given the all clear, says Pembrokeshire County Council

No frozen beef products containing horsemeat have been delivered to Pembroke Dock Community School, it has been revealed.
Sodexo - the Swindon-based company which provides catering services to Pembrokeshire County Council’s privately financed school - has confirmed that its records show that the site did not receive any of the three batches of frozen beef which tests earlier identified as containing horsemeat.
As a precaution, Sodexo is withdrawing all frozen and beef products from the school with immediate effect.
The company said that products would only be re-introduced to the school following DNA testing which meets its product specification.
Headteacher, Michele Thomas, said: “We are pleased to hear this news which I am sure will come as a relief to all pupils, parents and staff.
“We made a decision on our return after half-term not to serve any beef products until the situation was clarified.”
Yesterday (Wednesday) Pembrokeshire County Council announced that it was withdrawing minced beef from schools and council-run residential homes after a supplier confirmed that horsemeat had been found in its products.
