New chapter for county archive service

Pembrokeshire's archive service will re-open at its new location on the site of the former Prendergast County Primary School from tomorrow (Wednesday).

Previously known as the Pembrokeshire Record Office, the service has moved from the old prison building at Haverfordwest Castle to modern premises.

The archive, which will open from 10am, now boasts a bigger research room with improved disabled access.

The new opening hours for the archive service are: Wednesday (10am to 8pm), Thursday and Friday (10am to 5pm) and Saturday (10am to 3pm).

It is also temporarily hosting Haverfordwest Library’s local studies collection, while the County Library in Dew Street, undergoes work.

For enquiries call 01437 775456 or email record.office@ pembrokeshire.gov.uk.
