THE police were called to Quenington on Sunday June, 2 after a body was discovered.
Lieutenant Colonel Robert Shaw, deputy commander of Warminster Garrison was found dead when police were called to a car parked on Fairford Road, Quenington at 8am on Sunday.
Colonel Peter Merriman MBE, Commander of Warminster Garrison described Lt Col Robert Shaw as a friend, mentor and leader as well as tremendously dedicated to helping others.
He went on to say that the deputy commander was well known in his community and will be deeply missed.
The 52-year-olds death is not being treated as suspicious and his family have been informed. An inquest into the death is expected to be opened and adjourned tomorrow.
