A collision between a petrol tanker and a crane at Merlins Bridge has closed several roads in the area this morning.
It is understood that a large amount of fuel has spilled from the Texaco tanker onto the road.
The Old Hakin Road, Merlins Bridge roundabout, Dredgeman Hill, Freemans Way and Horse Fair roundabout are all currently closed.
Emergency services are in attendance. Fire crews were called at 6.40am this morning.
Diversions have been put in place but traffic remains slow moving.
The Dale Road and Haven Road in particular are busy, as are roads around Tiers Cross.
Bus services are also diverted.
Pembrokeshire College said they were not expecting the roads to open until at least lunchtime and added: "Please can staff check that the road has re-opened before attempting to get into College or park at the racecourse and walk down."
UPDATE 11am from Pembrokeshire County Council:

A40 and A477 heavier than usual but still moving.
