Charity match makes all the difference

A CHARITY match in memory of a Pembroke man who was murdered near his home in 2006 has raised £3,500 for local children’s charities.
Now in its seventh year, Cricket with a Difference was set up to remember popular sportsman Dean ‘Bevsy’ Evans
Four teams made up of families, friends and children took part in the rounders match, which is played at Stackpole cricket ground.
Pembroke Dock Firestation once again showed great support for the event by turning up in their fire engine for the children to explore.
Most of the grand total was raised through raffle ticket sales, with a host of prizes donated by local businesses.
Visitors also enjoyed a barbecue, book stall, bouncy castle and auction.
The Dean Bevsy Evans Fund’s next fundraising event will be a table-top sale at Foundry House Pembroke on October, 24, from 7pm to 9.30pm.
Among the items on offer with be handmade crafts, cosmetics, and gardening accessories.
