A VIGIL will be held today (Sunday) for Chelsea (formerly Bradley) Manning outside the Racecourse in Wrexham.
The campaign group Wise Up Wales will call on rugby league fans to remember the imprisoned WikiLeaks soldier as they attend the Rugby League World Cup match between Wales and USA.
US-born Manning, who spent her teenage years in Pembrokeshire and was a pupil at Tasker Milward School, is currently serving a 35-year prison sentence. The group is fundraising to help her family with the cost of prison visits to the US. A RLWC2013 ball has been signed by WikiLeaks' Julian Assange in support of Manning.
