HAVERFORDWEST’s bright future is the focus of the town’s Chamber of Commerce as it launches its ideas for what could be developed.

The first part of its vision is for a multiplex cinema in the town centre and the chamber has commissioned artistic impressions to show just how good the transformation could be.

Kinver Kreations was asked by the chamber executive to draw up plans for a cinema, located next to Wilko’s, as well as changes to the road network to ensure the linking of new ventures to the existing town centre.

“Such aspects are extremely important to preserve the town’s commercial and social integrity, to prevent its existing life’s blood being drained away,” said a chamber spokesman.

The grand idea would see more than half an acre of land freed up at Morrison’s roundabout with a simpler and safer traffic light controlled junction. There would also be room for more retail and food outlets as well as more car parking space.

“By utilising this area, there is a very real regeneration opportunity in the heart of our county town, which is deliverable, and will significantly add to the vitality and long term viability of Haverfordwest town centre.

“Serious outside interest is being shown in Haverfordwest, and the chamber sees this as an outstanding opportunity for the people of Haverfordwest and Pembrokeshire to take a real step forward and it should not be missed,” the spokesman added.
