THE rain failed to dampen spirits on Saturday (December 14) when about 500 bikers took to the county’s roads for the twelfth – and best yet - 3 Amigos and Dollies Christmas toy run.

The Commons car park in Pembroke was awash with motorbikes before riders set off for Haverfordwest via Pembroke Dock, Neyland and Milford Haven.

After a good battering from the elements, bikers and passengers were rewarded with coffee, tea and mince pies at the conference centre opposite Withybush Hospital.

Two cheques of £2,000 and about 3,000 presents were presented to Withybush Hospital children’s ward and Action for Children.

Dolly Ness Moseley said: “It has been a fantastic day, despite the heaven’s opening up on us – a great turnout for the ride and a lot of people on the side of the road, smiling and waving.

“Thanks to everyone who has supported this year’s event which will help the hospital do what they need to do and provide the level of service they continue to provide.”

Withybush Hospital children’s ward senior play specialist Sandra Jones said: “We always have a substantial amount from the toy run to keep us going throughout the year.

“The toys we have are for all children, from outpatients to those in A&E - any area where children are seen within Pembrokrshire hospitals and the community.

“It makes a big difference to us that we have this support.”

Action For Children Pembrokeshire coordinator Charlotte Phillips said: “Without the 3 Amigos’ support we would not be able to run our young carers support group nor run the activities we do for them.”
