St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity, and is committed to ensuring that everyone has the skills they need to save a life. We’re recruiting an addition to the award winning PR team at our Clerkenwell National Headquarters.

The PR Assistant (PRA) supports the national PR team to enable it to function efficiently and effectively. This involves managing several administration systems so the team has fast access to cuttings and case studies, as well as being the first point of contact for media enquiries.

Additionally, the PRA leads on minor PR projects, writing media releases, liaising with other teams, arranging photographers, selling in stories to the media and fixing up interviews. There is an active role in keeping the organisation’s social media platforms updated.

Support and training will be provided by the rest of the team as appropriate, which currently consists of the PR Manager, Senior PR Officer, PR Officer, and 8 Regional PR Officers. We also work with a retained agency and there will be some liaison with them for social media etc.
