St Davids was awash with colour and music on St David’s Day, with the dazzling dragon parade among the highlights.
Hundreds of school children from across Pembrokeshire gathered at Oriel y Parc on Saturday morning to assemble their fiery creations, which were paraded down High Street.
The procession was led by the air cadets band from the 948 Haverfordwest and City of St Davids squadron, and included rainbows, brownies and guides, St Davids CIC, and Ty'n-y-Coed care home in Rosemarket.
All the dragon entries will be on display in the Tower at Oriel y Parc until March 30.
Other goings on in the city included Ras Dewi Sant, which saw around 225 athletes take on the half and full coastal path marathon, and a pilgrims walk from St Nons Chapel to Oriel y Parc, led by St David’s Cathedral.
Crowds gathered at Oriel y Parc at 12 noon to witness the illumination of the St David’s Day stone, which to everyone’s delight shone through brightly. This was followed by a procession to Cross Square for the Bishop’s Blessing, and a Choral Eucharist in St David’s Cathedral.
