A WORKSHOP on dyslexia is being held in Haverfordwest tomorrow (Thursday) for parents and carers of children and young people with dyslexia.

Entitled ‘The Myth of Dyslexia', the workshop will be held at Pembrokeshire Archives in Prendergast, between 5pm and 7pm.

It will be led by Professor Angela Fawcett, who is world-renowned for her work in dyslexia, and will address the topical debate around some of the myths of the reading disorder.

The session will also consider different ways of supporting families of children and young people with dyslexia.

In particular, it aims to build awareness and raise confidence among families who are supporting their children's underlying specific needs in literacy development.

It will also look at how to create a supportive group for parents and carers to share concerns and give practical and emotional support to others.

The event is being organised by Pembrokeshire County Council and it is free of charge.
