POLICE have confirmed that an 84-year-old man died on the grounds of St David’s Cathedral on Wednesday afternoon (March 26).
The emergency services were alerted to the incident at 1.47pm, right as people were coming out of the Bishop’s Palace following a medal presentation for 236 Signal Squadron.
A paramedic in a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance were in attendance, and they could be seen performing CPR on the casualty at the foot of the 39 steps.
Police were also on the scene, and the Wales Air Ambulance circled the city, but did not land.
The man’s next of kin and the H.M. Coroner have been informed of the death.
