A NUMBER of people in the Pembroke area have been left without an up-to-date BT phonebook, after around 150 were dumped on the side of the road.

The pile of books was discovered underneath a county council ‘no fly tipping’ sign near Bowett Woods, between Monkton and Hundleton, on Saturday afternoon.

Photographs of the discarded books were posted on Facebook page ‘Hidden Pembrokeshire’.

A spokesman for BT said: “We were very concerned to hear of books having been left in this way.

“We have contacted the company responsible for distributing the books in this area and asked them to arrange collection.

“If anybody in this area has not received a book, they should contact us on 0800 833 400 and we will arrange for a book to be sent to them free of charge.

“BT delivers about 20 million Phone Books in the UK every year.”
