The family of Catrin Vaughan, the school teacher killed in a car crash on Tuesday morning, have paid tribute to her.

Miss Vaughan, aged 30, suffered fatal injuries in a collision outside Fishguard on Tuesday morning as she drove to work at Ysgol Glannau Gwaun.

In a statement, her family said: "Losing Catrin has had a devastating effect on everyone who knew her.

"Catrin was a loving daughter, fiancée, granddaughter, sister, auntie and friend.

"She was a dedicated and conscientious school teacher in Ysgol Glannau Gwaun and was much loved by all the children she taught.

"Catrin was looking forward to a happy future with her fiancée and loved spending time with her family and friends.

"She will be truly missed by us all.

"We would like to thank everyone in the community for their kind wishes and thoughts at this difficult time."

Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education also expressed his sympathy.

Councillor Ken Rowland said: “Although I did not know the lady personally, everyone who knew her speaks of her in the highest terms both as a person and in her professional life as a teacher.

“The staff and pupils at Ysgol Glannau Gwaun, Fishguard, are distraught at what has happened and my heart goes out to them also.”
