Londoners rescued after 'driving into sea'

A GROUP of tourists proved that 'sat navs' are no substitute for local knowledge this Bank Holiday weekend, when they drove into the sea at Angle.

Four women, on holiday from London for the weekend, had to be rescued from their flooded vehicle at around 9.30pm on Sunday (April 20).

The group had been planning a trip from Milford Haven, where they were staying, to the Old Point House pub.

They followed the instructions of their sat nav, took a wrong turning, and travelled around 400m down a 'no through road' before they realised the hire car was bonnet-deep in water.

St Govan's Coastguard located the vehicle and helped the women on to dry land, and a breakdown firm later came to rescue the flooded car.

Tusk Tusk. Our waterways are thngs of beauty and should be respected. I certainly hope that on their next visit to the county they avoid driving into the sea.

A very disturbing thing for these people to experience but luckily they were not hurt. I was very disappointed though to hear Radio Pembrokeshire run a skit about how "hilarious" it was. I think it is about time this station grew up and stopped poking fun at other peoples misfortune. I for one won't be listening to them again. VERY BAD TASTE!
