Two men have been arrested following a spate of thefts from changing rooms at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre.

Officers have received five separate reports of thefts of personal items, which include money and bank cards from unlocked lockers within changing rooms.

Sgt Catrin Thomas of Haverfordwest Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Between April 9 and April 29 a number of thefts from lockers in the changing rooms of Haverfordwest Leisure Centre have been reported to us.

"We are advising members of the public not to leave items in the changing rooms without locking them away in the lockers provided and to avoid taking expensive items into places such as this if they are going to be left unattended for any length of time.

"Thefts of this nature are not common in this area; however in light of this recent spate we urge people to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to police. ”

Haverfordwest Police are working closely with staff at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre to prevent any further incidents of this nature.

Sgt Thomas added: “Having spoken to staff at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, it is clear that the safety and security of their patrons property is of utmost importance to them, and they are fully co-operating with the investigations.”

Two men, a 42 year old and a 23 year old, have been arrested on suspicion of theft and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Haverfordwest Police are appealing for anyone with any information in respect of these thefts to contact them on 101.
