THE British Red Cross in Pembrokeshire is looking for more people to join its team of volunteers.

Across the county, Red Cross volunteers help vulnerable people and those in crisis through services such as Gofal y Ddolen, patient transfer, and first aid training.

The charity helps out at sporting and public events, and during emergencies such as severe weather.

Cara Evans, volunteer recruitment officer, said: “Our volunteers are the life-blood of the Red Cross. We simply couldn’t provide the wide range of services to help people cope with a personal crisis without them.

“We need more people to join our team so we can make sure those members of our community who require a little help have access to the support they need when they need it. I encourage anyone who could offer a couple of hours a week to contact us and learn more about the various Red Cross services.”

To learn more about the Red Cross in Pembrokeshire or to sign up as a volunteer, an open event will be held at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, Queensway, Haverfordwest, on Thursday, May 15, between 4pm and 8pm.

All volunteers can expect full support and training throughout their volunteering journey and reasonable expenses will be paid.
