A new function room at a long-established Pembrokeshire hotel is being officially opened by a Welsh government minister today (Monday).

Edwina Hart, minister for economy, science and transport, will visit the Wolfscastle Country Hotel this morning for the launch of the new garden room.

This latest development at the four-star hotel means that it can now cater for events of up to 225 people.

Adjoining the current function room, the garden room can also be used on its own to house smaller wedding receptions, get-togethers or conferences of 45 people or less.

Andrew Stirling bought the historic hotel in 1976 and runs it today with his wife Mandy.

“The garden room has added a beautiful airy dimension to the existing - and recently refurbished - function rooms,” said Andrew.

“We feel that this adds to both our local and visitor offer, and has contributed towards our four star hotel status.”

The development has received support from the Welsh Government’s Tourism Investment Support Scheme.

“I am very pleased to open this new, high-quality development,” said Mrs Hart.

“Quality accommodation such as this is key to attracting more tourists to Wales, and our Tourism Investment Support Scheme provides support for businesses looking to upgrade the quality of facilities and increase capacity.”

The grand opening party for the garden room is this Friday evening (May 16).

There will be a barbecue buffet with entertainment by local trio, Honey Fungus, followed by the Wayne Morse Disco. For more information call 01437 741225 or visit www.wolfscastle.com
