More than 150 intrepid runners have signed up to take on the Preseli Beast today Saturday, May 24.
The race, now in its second year, takes runners on an unforgiving course through the Preseli Hills, starting and finishing in the village of Maenclochog.
The overall distance is approximately 24 miles, with 4,700ft of height gain – which is nearly one and a half times the height of Snowdon.
It has a mixture of trail, fell, and wooded paths, and even the odd bog to contend with.
But runners will be rewarded with the stunning views, such as Newport Bay from Carn Ingli.
The race starts at 10am. It will be followed two hours later by the Beast Bach, for runners wanting to take on a shorter 10.5 mile course.
