Family, friends and acquaintances of the much-missed late tattooist Debbie Best are invited to raise a toast to celebrate her life at a memorial evening tonight, May 29.

The family of Deborah Mary McBride have organised the event - which will start at 7pm at Haverfordwest’s County Hotel - and hope those who knew Debbie will join them to enjoy a glass of champagne and a buffet in memory of this “very special lady”. Guests are asked to wear casual dress. Canon Dorian will be present.

Debbie’s favourite music will be played, and anyone with photos or video footage of her is asked to bring it along. There will also be a chance to write down any funny moments or moving memories guests may have which involve her. Debbie’s mum Kathy hopes someone will read the stories – which she will keep and appreciate – out at the party.

In accordance with a request made by Debbie before she died, her books, CDs, DVDs and hearts she painted while she was ill will be on sale at the memorial, and all proceeds raised will be donated to Cancer Research.

“Debbie loved a good party,” said her brother, Terry. “It’s been a year now, and we want to do something positive in her memory. She’d want everyone to come along and have a good time.”
