Young people in north Pembrokeshire are being given the chance to showcase their musical talents in front of a live audience tonight (Friday).

A free Youth Music Event will be held at Ffwrn in Fishguard with music ranging from bands to soloists, singers, DJ’s and much more.

The event has been organised by a group of young people from Fishguard with support from Pembrokeshire Youth, Fishguard and Goodwick Youth Club, the Youth Town Council and Alcohol Concern Wales.

“Prepare yourself for some awesome local music entertainment of all styles; this isn’t one to be missed,” said Stephen Lewis, community youth worker.

“The aim of this event is to encourage young people to get involved in developing new musical skills.

“We want to promote the local musicians in the area and show off their amazing talents.

“By putting this music event on we aim to boost the confidence of young people by helping them to develop their creative and personal potential in all musical styles.

“We will also be there to give any advice and guidance to the young people about any queries they have, in relation to music, school, friends and day to day life.”

The event will be open to all young people aged 11 to 13 between 5:30pm and 6:30pm and for young people aged from 14 to 21 between 7pm and 11pm.
