Pembroke Dock is gearing up for its annual Summer Festival which starts tomorrow (Sunday June 15) with Fun in the Park at the Memorial Park, from noon to 4pm. This will be followed by a quiz at the First and Last at 9pm.
The festival will be in full swing all week with a packed programme of events.
Monday (June 16): Maritime tour, meeting at Pembroke Dock Library, 2pm; storytelling, Pembroke Dock Library, 3.45pm to 5pm.
Tuesday, June 17: Pembroke Dock through the Ages, Anchorage Social Activity Centre, 11am.
Wednesday, June 18: Strawberry Tea, Anchorage Social Activity Centre, 1pm to 2.30pm; Hancocks to Hobbs Point walk, meeting at the Pater Hall, 7pm.
Thursday, June 19: Open day, Encompass Shop, Dimond Street, 11am to 3pm.
Friday, June 20: Pembroke Dock’s Got Talent, Pater Hall, 7pm.
Saturday, June 21: Street Party, Dimond Street, noon to 3pm; Pater Hall Festival Dance, 8.30pm to midnight.
At the street party there will be entertainment, rides, face painters and balloon modelling. Dimond Street will be closed to traffic between the junction with Lewis Street and the junction with Meyrick Street for most of the day.
Pembroke Dock Festival Group treasurer Councillor Don Earl said: “We have been promised good weather so we hope everyone will come down to the park on Sunday and give the festival a good send off.
“Whatever you want we will have it there so bring your purses.”
