The Royal Tank Regiment has been training at Castlemartin this week and Army Photographer Corporal Si Longworth was on hand to capture the spectacular result.
He told the Western Telegraph: "Being an Army Photographer is fantastic because of the opportunities to photograph a whole range of military activities such as tank firing.
"Throughout my 18 years of military service I have encountered tanks many times but had never been up close to one firing.
"Hidden behind the lens, I didn’t know quite what to expect when the first one went off. It did give me a bit of a jump, and the shockwave is quite powerful, but like most things you get used to it.
"I was also lucky enough to set up cameras down the ranges and fire them remotely from a safe distance, giving me the front aspect of the tank as it fired.”
