A team of north Pembrokeshire rowers are pitting themselves against the Irish Sea today (Monday).
The Newport’s Beauty and the Beasts team is hoping to raise £15,000 for two local charities.
The rowers set off this morning and are hoping to return to Newport Boat Club between 7pm and 10pm this evening. They are being accompanied by a support boat and a safety boat on their 60 mile challenge.
The team from Newport Boat Club, joined by Sea Trust’s science and education officer Hannah Harries, is raising funds for two local charities; Sea Trust and Newport Memorial Hall.
“We are hoping the weather will be on our side,” said Hannah. “We might even manage to squeeze in a cetacean spotting survey from the support boat.”

“As the challenge is raising money for two charities, the team would be grateful if you could split your donation 50:50 but understand if you would prefer to donate 100% of your gift to just one,” said Hannah.
