The controversial decision to close Hakin Community and Hubberston VC Schools will be debated again today (Thursday).

In April, members of Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet took the decision to push ahead with the closures of the two popular schools despite widespread opposition from local parents.

The agenda before members of the county council who meet at County Hall this morning acknowledges the widespread concern but maintains that the status quo “offers no strategy for the future.”

It adds: “The benefits for all children in the area of anew learning environment outweigh their concerns.”
