HUNDREDS of people flocked to our county town on Saturday to enjoy the biggest and best Haverfordwest Walking Carnival yet!
Entrants warmed to the fancy dress theme of ‘Heroes and Heroines’ -from the world of showbiz and beyond - and spectators admired some fantastic costumes.
Led by the Milford Haven Town Band, the procession blazed a trail through the town, setting off from Old Bridge Square, heading along Bridge Street to Castle Square then returning to the Riverside Shopping precinct.
Cash prizes for the winning costumes – donated by Taj Mahal Restaurant – were presented by the Mayor and Sheriff to the Best Individual and Best Group, plus a Runner Up.
Visitors enjoyed entertainments including face painting, a bouncy castle and boxing ring, music, dancing and numerous stalls.
The Carnival was jointly run by Haverfordwest at its Best and Haverfordwest Lions Club, with financial support from Valero, Haverfordwest Town Council, and local traders. Riverside Shopping, Haverfordwest Lions Club and HIP provided practical help to ensure the wonderful day ran smoothly.
