Dyfed-Powys Police officers investigating the incident which tragically killed a teenage quad biker on Sunday have made an appeal for more information.

Nineteen year-old Dan Roch, from Molleston, near Templeton, died on Sunday in the Bwlchllan area of Lampeter during a motocross event.

Police are asking anyone who was at the event and saw the incident or anyone who may have been filming the race with their cameras to contact police on 101.

The teenager, a former pupil of Templeton CP School and Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, Whitland, was ‘a lovely-natured young man from a well-respected family’, said his county councillor, Elwyn Morse.

He added: “His tragic loss is being felt greatly by the people of Templeton and the surrounding area.

“Dan’s untimely death has truly shocked the community, and our thoughts are with the Roch and Page families at this very sad time.”

Dan leaves his parents Hugh and Annette, and brother and sister Tom and Charlotte.

Tributes to Dan - described as ‘a rising star’ in his sport - have been posted online.

An inquest into Dan’s death was opened by the senior coroner for Ceredigion, Mr P.L. Brunton on Monday, and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
