Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert swapped his microphone for bed linen when he took on a four-day stint in a Pembrokeshire hotel.
As part of the BBC2 series, Rhod’s Work Experience, he joined the staff of Tenby’s Fourcroft Hotel as manager.
But before he was able to take charge, he cleaned bedrooms, cooked and served breakfast - with the supervision of head chef Sam Askew - and even undertook some maintenance.
Then he took on the reigns as manager on a Sunday afternoon for the hotel’s monthly Jazz Brunch, where he turned the tables on guests by asking for their autographs before showing them to their rooms.
Fourcroft owner Chris Osborne revealed that the comedian was ‘knackered’ at the end of his work experience. “But he understood at the end that being an hotel manager can be not only challenging but also very satisfying,” he added.
The hit series returns to BBC2 this coming autumn.
