Tenby was in carnival mood on Wednesday afternoon, as crowds lined the town’s streets to enjoy the colourful procession.

Imagination ran riot amongst the carnival contestants, who brought along creatures from the deep, Lego favourites, footballers, flowers and superheroes to join the fun of the parade.

Countries galore were depicted on the Around the World in 80 Days float entered by Dai the Boot and friends, which won the prize for the best decorated entry.

The lively procession made its way from Tenby’s railway station yard via South Parade, Lower Frog Street, Tudor Square and St Julian Street to the harbour for the presentation of prizes.

The main sponsor of the event was Tenby House Hotel, with sponsorship also coming from Tredeml Print Design Studio and Printers.

A day of fun activities at the fire station in South Parade preceded the carnival, which is run by Tenby Retained Firemen.

All the money raised during the day will go to the Firefighters’ Charity, with Tenby station winning the Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade rosebowl for their top fundraising on several times in previous years.
